Failure mode
What this method prevents
A fluent answer cites a source, but nobody can determine which claim it supports, whether it is current or whether it applies in the declared jurisdiction.
Illustrative example
A supplier white paper may support what the supplier claims about its product, but it does not independently establish comparative effectiveness.
How it works
A controlled sequence
- Identify every material source.
- Record source class and production pathway.
- Link each source to specific claims.
- Record date, jurisdiction and currency.
- State what the source can and cannot establish.
- Mark unregistered external material separately.
Reliance note
The method supports governance; it does not self-authorise a decision.
Application must be proportionate to the task, evidence and consequence level. The output should state what has been registered, what remains uncertain and which authorised human or organisation controls release.
